Filo Apple Roses

Updated: Jan 6, 2021

These were a really quick and easy sweet snack which helped in using up some leftover filo pastry. They are brushed with a pomegranate and cinnamon syrup before baking for 20 minutes. Super quick and simple but oh don't they look fancy! ⠀

Ingredients

2 Sliced apple's (sliced as thinly as possible, as pictured in the image above)

2 sheets of filo pastry - or whatever you have left over

1tbsp Cinnamon syrup or dried cinnamon

1 tbsp Pomegranate molasses

Method

1, Thinly slice your apple into half moons as pictured above

2, Take one sheet of filo pastry, and half lengthwise. Fold this in halves until you have strips approximately 1.5 inches wide

3, Mix cinnamon syrup and pomegranate molasses and brush onto the pastry strips

4, Lay the apple slices along the edge of the pastry overlapping the pastry by a few centimetres and each slice slightly overlapping the apple slice previous

5, Roll the pastry and apple slices and slice into a cupcake case or muffin tin to hold the shape, and bake for 20 minutes

6, Enjoy!!
