I have had a fondue set for what feels like years and never ever used it, Madness!!
Well no more after a weekend away I took it with us and had my first cheese fondue experience and oh what an experience it was my only compliant is that I wanted more!
⠀
Ingredients
150g each of Gruyere, Emmantal, and Gouda grated (you can use pretty much any meltable cheese for this too, I've made it with the leftover cheeseboard cheese just taste as you go)
2 tbsp cornflour
250ml white wine
fresh lemon juice
1tsp mustard
Whatever you want to dip into the cheese, bread and broccoli are my faves
Method
1, Add the cornflour to the grated cheese and coat, this will help to thicken sauce and prevent it from going lumpy, if you don't have this however miss this step and just continue to whisk
2, Add the white wine to a pan and simmer on a low heat with the garlic, mustard and lemon juice
3, Add the cheese in about 3 parts until melted
4, If you have one pour the cheese mix into a fondue pot and serve with an assortment of dippable sides
5, Enjoy!!
